About our Table Lamps

Table Lamps: Funky, Retro and Mid-Century Designs

Our table lamps are for people who want a lamp that looks like a piece of design, not an afterthought. The range covers cool, funky statement pieces, retro mid-century mushroom and flowerpot shapes, glass lamps on chrome and wood, and a couple of practical desk lamps. Every design is plug-in, so it's ready for a permanent spot on a bedside table, desk, sideboard or console.

Choosing a Bedside Lamp

A lamp around 25 to 35cm tall sits comfortably on most bedside tables without shining in your eyes. The Verdon and Luna (28cm) and the Otto, Torino, Palo and Pisano (26cm) are all compact options, and warm, diffused light is the best choice before sleep. Desk Lamps and Reading Light

Most of our table lamps create ambient light rather than a focused beam. For a desk or for reading, choose the Bremen, with its adjustable head, or the Pisano, which directs light down and has a built-in dimmer. Our guide Desk Lamps That Don't Feel Office-y has more ideas.

Table Lamp FAQs

What's the difference between a bedside lamp and a table lamp? There's no strict rule. A bedside lamp is simply a table lamp used on a nightstand, so any lamp in this collection can work either way depending on its size.

Does the lamp come with a bulb? It varies by design, so check the individual product page. Most use a standard fitting, so replacement bulbs are easy to find; see our Light Bulb Guide.

Will hand-blown glass lamps look identical to the photos? Hand-blown glass shades, like the Verdon and Luna, may contain small natural bubbles. This is a mark of the handmade process, not a fault.

Are these original designer lamps? No. Designs like the Strada, Parabola, Lustro and Pisano are our own takes on mid-century classics, and they aren't made by or affiliated with the original manufacturers.
