A solid metal portable lamp with a hidden light source

The Lekker hides its LED inside a smooth metal dome, so instead of a bright point of light you get a soft glow reflected down onto the surface below. It's 23cm tall and 23cm wide and weighs 0.9kg, which gives it a sturdier, more substantial feel than most plastic rechargeable lamps.

A Pao-style cordless lamp for every room

If you've been searching for a HAY Pao-style portable lamp, the Lekker shares that low, rounded mushroom shape. It runs for up to 12 hours on its lowest setting from an 1800mAh battery, recharges by USB-C in about 2 to 3 hours, and switches between warm white, cool white and daylight with dimmable brightness. Choose Cool Grey, Scarlet Red, Midnight Black or Cream White. The Lekker is Lamp Boy's own design and isn't made by or affiliated with HAY.

Why choose a metal cordless lamp?

The Lekker's solid metal body gives it a heavier, more premium feel, and at 0.9kg it sits steadily on a dining table or bedside table. The metal also changes the light: because the LED is hidden inside the dome, you see a soft pool of light on the surface below rather than a glowing shade, which is what makes Pao-style lamps so good for relaxed evenings. Cool Grey and Cream White are easy to place in any room, Midnight Black adds contrast, and Scarlet Red makes a statement on a white or timber table.

Where to use it

Dining tables, where you want light without a cord across the table
Bedside tables and shelves for relaxed evening light
Balconies and patios for evenings outside
