Sofia Portable Lamp

A frosted glass mushroom lamp on a solid marble base

The Sofia pairs a frosted glass mushroom shade with a solid marble base, so the light glows softly through the glass while the stone keeps it grounded. If you've been searching for a glass mushroom lamp or a marble table lamp that doesn't need a power point, it brings real glass and real stone to a bedside table, side table or dining table with no cord to plan around. It's 28cm tall with a 23cm wide shade, and its 3W LED gives a warm, diffused glow that feels closer to a classic table lamp than a battery lamp.

Brown Marble or White Marble

• Brown Marble: warm brown stone with natural veining that sits well with timber, linen and earthy, Mediterranean-style interiors.
• White Marble: white with soft grey veining, the most classic and minimal of the two.

Because each base is natural stone, the veining and markings vary slightly from lamp to lamp, so no two are exactly alike.

Battery and controls

A 2300mAh battery gives up to 12 hours on the lowest setting and recharges via USB in about 2 to 3 hours, and you can keep using the lamp while it charges. Tap the touch button to switch it on or off, then hold to dim or brighten. It has a single warm white tone and is made for ambient light rather than reading.

Sofia or Funghi?

Both are cordless mushroom lamps with frosted shades, but they're built differently:

• Sofia: a real frosted glass shade on a solid marble base, with a single warm white light, for a weightier, more premium piece
• Funghi: a lighter frosted polycarbonate shade with three light tones, easy to carry from room to room

Prefer stone with a fabric shade? The Olbia Portable Lamp pairs a natural stone column with a soft drum shade. Browse all mushroom lamps and portable lamps, or read Bedside Lighting That Won't Ruin Your Sleep.
