A flowerpot-style table lamp with a soft, downward glow

The Parabola is built from two semicircular domes facing each other, the shape most people know as a flowerpot lamp. Light from the built-in LED bounces between the two halves and falls downward, giving you a calm pool of light on the table and a gently glowing shade without glare. At 50cm tall with a 23cm diameter, it's a good height for a living room side table, desk or entry console.

VP3-inspired, in six colours

Verner Panton's late-1960s Flowerpot is one of the most searched mid-century lamp shapes, and the Parabola is our take on the VP3 table lamp profile. It comes in Cherry Red, Mustard Yellow, Salmon Pink, Cool Grey, Forest Green and Chalk White, so it can be a bold accent or a quiet neutral, and a metal dimmer lets you turn it down for the evening. The Parabola is Lamp Boy's own design and isn't made by or affiliated with &Tradition.

Choosing a Parabola colour

Each colour gives the Parabola a different character. Cherry Red and Mustard Yellow are the classic 1960s flowerpot colours and make the lamp the focal point of a room; note that the current Cherry Red is a lighter, more vibrant red than some of our older photos, matched to the Tapa Portable Lamp. Salmon Pink and Forest Green are softer and pair well with timber and plants, while Cool Grey and Chalk White suit minimalist or monochrome interiors. Because the Parabola and the cordless Tapa share the flowerpot shape and both come in Cherry Red and Mustard Yellow, you can match a plug-in lamp on the sideboard with a portable one on the dining table.
